Sensory
Integration

The phrase "sensory integration" has been used to describe brain functions that enable us to arrange the information we receive from our five senses and react accordingly. Along with our vestibular sense (balance), which helps us position our bodies and heads, we also have a proprioceptive sense (awareness of the body in space), which directs how we move our joints, muscles, and ligaments.
